The Sellamillion: The disappointing ‘other’ Tolkien parody

e n’est pas une blague : les parodies se vendent par millions ! Après le grand succès (100 000 ventes) de Bingo le Posstit, c’est encore l’heure de rire avec Tolkien. Le Seigneur des Anneaux a raflé tous les Oscars ? Bonne raison de continuer à titiller, satiriser et ridiculiser le culte de Tolkien.

Malgré son titre, The Sellamillion n’est pas une satire du Silmarillion : c’est impossible ! Si tous les fans de l’auteur en ont une copie sur l’étagère, c’est là qu’elle prend la poussière. Presque personne n’a réussi à passer la page 3. Ce qui est drôle est de parodier tout ce que Tolkien a créé pendant qu’il bossait sur sa fameuse trilogie : L’Histoire des Jours Âgés. Les vieux brouillons manquants des romans, les lettres entre l’écrivain et son éditeur, est-ce le talisman magique devrait être un Piercing de Nombril du Destin plutôt qu’un Anneau de Pouvoir ? Et le plus drôle : une version expérimentale du Seigneur des Anneaux dans le style du Dr. Seuss. Que vous aimiez la trilogie originale ou (mieux encore, peut-être) que vous la détestiez, ça va vous faire rire jusqu’à la dernière page.
