l s'agit du second tome d'articles de Mark T. Hooker. Il débute là où A Tolkienian Mathomium s'était arrêté. L'analyse de Hooker s'opère selon une perspective linguistique similaire à celle de Tolkien.

ark T. Hooker est un spécialiste en traduction comparée de l'Indiana University's Russian and East European Institute (REEI). Aujourd'hui retraité, il conduit des recherches à des fins de publication. Ses articles sur Tolkien ont été publiés en anglais dans Beyond Bree, Para Nölé, Translating Tolkien et Tolkien Studies, en néerlandais dans Lembas (le journal de l'association tolkiennienne néerlandaise) et en russe dans Palantir(le journal de l'association tolkiennienne de St. Petersbourg). Il a présenté des articles à nombre de MythCons et au quatrième Lustrum de l'association tolkiennienne néerlandaise. Il est l'auteur de Tolkien Through Russian Eyes (Walking Tree, 2003), Implied, but not Stated (distribué par Slavica, 1999) et The History of Holland (Greenwood, 1999). Il a aussi écrit sur la polémique Harry Potter contre Tanya Grotter. Il est diplomé du Russian Advanced Course de DLIWC. Il parle néerlandais chez lui.
